My sincere thanks to all ExCom members, professional and student volunteers, and members of Kerala Section for your enormous contributions and continued support extended to Section activities in fulfilling the mission and vision of IEEE. Last year, we were the third largest in terms of membership among the 344 Sections with 15,066 members. Let us work together to get more Membership renewals and recruitments in 2024 to regain the top position. We hope for a promising year with more activities and membership ahead in 2024.
As on 28 February 2024, the number of active student branches dropped from 109 to 94. We managed to reactivate 5 dormant student branches as of now. The total active Student Branches reaching the figure of 99 including 1 new Student Branch.
The Computational Intelligence Society Chapter Society (approved on 28 Mar 2024) and Control System Society Chapter (approved on 9 Apr 2024) were added making the number of active technical Society Chapters to 18 including the IA/IE/PELS Jt. Chapter.
The ‘Leaders Meet’ was successfully organized at Abad Plaza, Ernakulam on Oct 14th. MGA Vice President – Elect, Mr. Deepak Mathur was the Chief guest. The 40th anniversary celebrations of Kerala Section was kicked off by the IEEE President, Dr. Saifur Rahman on Dec 10th at Mascot Hotel, Trivandrum. All the past chairs of the Section and Life senior members were honoured during this inaugural ceremony.
The All India Computer Society Student and Young Professional Congress (AICSSYC 2023) in association with Computer Society, IEEE R10 Young Professionals Career and Leadership Aid Program (CLAP 2023) in association with R10 YP, IEEE Women in Engineering int’l Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE 2023) in association with IEEE Bangladesh WIE AG Chapter, and the All Kerala Student Congress (AKSC 2023) with a participation of 1,500+ were the major milestone events successfully conducted during 2023 in the section.

I along with my team aim to elevate IEEE Kerala Section to position of excellence on the global stage, bringing in numerous accolades for our organisational units and volunteers. This shall be achieved through the implementation of high-quality programs that not only cater to the needs of our members but also contribute positively to the welfare of underprivileged sections of the society aligning with IEEE ‘s tagline Advancing technology for Humanity

With a zealous Young Professionals Affinity Group, IEEE Kerala Section organises campaigns, workshops and networking opportunities for the IEEE members who are contributing their share to the industry.
A Large Section with 14 Societies, 4 Affinity Groups and over 100 Student Branches, IEEE Kerala Section strives to provide its student members with an advantage over their peers by enhancing their technical and managerial prowess, through a wide variety of initiatives and flagship events.
With over 9000 members and an ever growing rate each year, IEEE Kerala Section acts as a bridge for the members to connect with the global community. The Section keeps its members up-to-date with the latest scholarships, conferences and membership benefits, with regular MD sessions and creative events.
